IPL – Intense Pulsed Light

Category: Face/Body
Type: Non-Surgical
Procedure: IPL – INTENSE PULSED LIGHT TREATMENT

Overview

Although skin aging is caused by a number of factors, your sun exposure has the single biggest effect on how your skin ages. Skin damage caused by the sun can result in pigment changes such as brown spots or increased redness caused by inflammation of your skin’s tiny blood vessles. This type of damage is known as “Photodamage.” IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy) or also known as “PhotoFacial” utilizes waves of light therapy to target and correct photo damage. A variety of skin conditions on the face and body may be treated including hyperpigmentation, erythema (redness), rosacea, poikiloderma, and telangectasias (broken capillaries). IPL treatments are ideal for active patients with photo-damaged skin, who can’t take time off for healing from more invasive therapies.

The Benefits of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy) treatments are:

• Corrects a variety of skin conditions
• Reduces sun induced discoloration
