Diolite 532 Laser Treatment in San Diego
Minimize Noticeable Pigmentation
Individuals that are self-conscious of broken capillaries or pigmented lesions on the face may benefit from treatment with the Diolite 532™, offered at Belladerma Cosmetic Surgery & Skin Care Center with Deb Prescott, R.N., Dr. Bucko’s registered nurse for over 20 years. The Diolite is a powerful laser that offers safe, effective treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions. As a minimally invasive treatment, the laser destroys unwanted cells while keeping surrounding healthy cells intact.
Conditions Treated with the Diolite 532
The Diolite 532 can be used to minimize or eliminate the appearance of:
- Vascular lesions
- Telangectasias – tiny red spider veins on the cheeks or nose
- Cherry angiomas – small red, raised lesions
- Spider angiomas – small red, raised, spider-like lesions
- Pigmented lesions
- Lentingines – flat brown spots (due to excessive sun exposure)
- Keratosis – slightly raised pigmented spots
- Dermatosis papulosis nigra – small black spots (primarily seen in people of Asian descent)
Leg veins and raised or large moles typically will not respond to treatment with the Diolite.
Deb meets with patients individually to discuss their specific concerns and examine the problematic areas. She advises as to whether Diolite or another treatment is the most effective option.
More about Treatment with the Diolite 532
During treatment, the Diolite handpiece is placed over the lesion. The handpiece emits a pinpoint beam of laser light at a specific wavelength to the lesion. As the light passes through the skin, it is attracted to and absorbed by the color in the red blood cells of a vessel or the brown or black pigment (melanin) in a mole or spot. The laser energy turns to heat and destroys the vessel or fragments the pigment, without disturbing the surrounding cells or tissue. The destroyed vessel fades away almost immediately, and the fragmented pieces of pigment are filtered away from the body naturally.

Some patients may require an additional session, depending on the number and severity of the lesion(s).
The Diolite 532 offers a quick and convenient treatment experience. Patients may feel a brief sensation of heat as the laser works. After treatment, the skin might have redness, like a sunburn, and scabbing for a few days. There is no downtime required; patients may immediately return to their normal activities.
Most lesions look less noticeable right after treatment, and continues to fade over the course of a few days. Final treatment results are usually evident 10 to 14 days after treatment for vascular lesions and five to 10 days for pigmented lesions. Dr. Bucko’s patients are generally very happy with their results.
