For the past 11 years Deb has been doing injectibles and laser treatments for Dr. Bucko. She injects dermal fillers (Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm), as well as Botox and Dysport.  The lasers she performs are specific for hair removal, photorejuvination, skin tightening, and facial capillary correction.

The earlobe is finding itself in the anti-aging spotlight.

“It is no secret that more women are having what could be called a ‘lobe job’,” says Wendy Lewis, cosmetic surgery adviser and editor of beautyinthebag.com.  “Gravity takes its toll on earlobes – they droop like chins and breasts do, and can make you look older.”

Years of wearing heavy earrings also cause the lobe to get stretched out of shape. An earlobe reduction is a simple procedure that reshapes the earlobe to a better proportion.

Another issue for women is a torn earlobe, where the hole from a pierced ear gets so stretched that the lobe tears open and has to be stitched together.

“Also, as people get older, there is a loss of fat from within the earlobe. Add to this the effects of gravity and the fact that the actual dimensions of the earlobe enlarge and expand with age, and the result is that the earlobe becomes floppier and looks older,” says Lewis.

Other reasons for cosmetic ear surgery, or otoplasty, include protruding or disfigured ears. The procedure can improve the shape, position or proportion of the ear. It can also correct a defect in the ear structure that is present at birth that becomes apparent with development.

Ear surgery creates a natural shape, while bringing balance and proportion to the ears and face. Correction of even minor deformities can have profound benefits to appearance and self-esteem, states the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Over 20,600 chin implants were performed in the U.S. in 2011 – a dramatic 71% increase from the numbers of that procedure performed in 2010, while the number of breast procedures rose only 4% during the same time period.

Both men and women are having the “chinplant” procedure. Over 8400 of  the total 2011 number were in their 50s and 60s, while there was a 68% increase over the previous year in the number of chin implants done in younger adults aged 20-29.

The WebMD website reported, “Researchers say the trend appears to be fueled by a combination of increasing use of video chats, an aging baby boomer population, and competition in the workplace.”

5. “After dancing, don’t cake on more powder to get rid of the shine. Instead, use oil-blotting sheets,” says makeup artist Susan Giordano. “They’re quick, disposable, and you don’t need a mirror to use them.”

A Tummy Tuck, also called abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat and skin, and tightens weakened or separated abdominal muscles.
