Overview
As we age, we lose volume and elasticity in the face which causes the cheek, jowl and neck skin to sag and loosen, making us appear older than we may desire. A Face Lift is a surgical procedure which removes and tightens the skin and tissues of these facial areas.
You are a candidate for a Face Lift if:
• You have loose skin in the face, neck and jowl area
• You are a non-smoker in good health
• You are able to take time off work or caring for children to recover
• You have tried other ways to tighten skin and have not been successful
How the procedure is performed
• 2-3 hours in an outpatient surgery center under general anesthesia
• Incisions are made in the hairline starting above the ear and down around in the hairline behind the neck
• Through those incisions loose skin is removed and the underlying tissues and muscles are tightened.
• Dr. Bucko will apply head dressings to protect your incisions.
Recovery
• You can go home following your procedure or we can arrange AFTERCARE for you.
• Dr. Bucko will prescribe pain medication, anti-nausea medication and his GIRLFRIENDS face lift recovery kit and any other medication you may need to optimize your recovery.
• Most patients feel great within 10 days after surgery and look great within 2-3 weeks after surgery.
• Most patients can resume exercise and all normal activities with 3 weeks following surgery
• Full recovery takes 6 months and up to 1 year. y you will begin to feel better.
