Overview

A woman’s feelings about her appearance usually are affected by the way she feels about her breasts. After childbirth, nursing, weight loss, or as you age, you may find your breasts begin to droop. This compromises the youthful shape, firmness and position of the breasts. A breast lift is a surgical procedure that raises the breast into a more youthful and desirable position by removing the loose skin, and raising the nipple. Dr. Bucko has developed the IDEAL BREAST procedure which combines his artistic and surgical ability to create your ideal result.

You are a candidate for a Breast Lift if:

• You have sagging breasts due to age, heredity, pregnancy, or weight loss
• Your areola diameter is larger than you’d like
• Your areolas/nipples are low or point downward
• One breast is lower than the other.

How a Breast Lift is performed:

• 2-3 hours in an outpatient surgery center under general anesthesia
• Incisions are made from the bottom of the breast up and around the areola
• Through those incisions loose skin is removed, the breast is reshaped to improve breast contour, and the nipple is repositioned to a more youthful height.
• Dr. Bucko will use sutures and/or staples to close the incisions and apply dressings to protect your incisions.

Breast Lift Recovery:

• You can go home after your breast lift procedure or we can arrange AFTERCARE for you
• Dr. Bucko will prescribe pain medication, anti-nausea medication, antibiotics, and any other medications you need to optimize your recovery
• Sutures/staples are removed 4-6 days after surgery
• You can normally resume most of your routine activities within 7-10 days after your breast lift procedure..
• You can normally resume exercise 2-3 weeks after surgery.
• Your incisions will be fully faded approximately 1 year from your breast lift procedure but will always be present to some extent.
